A New Chapter Begins: Celebrating the Opening of The Hope House

In May 2026, our community gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting of The Hope House, a milestone that represents far more than the opening of a home. With more than 75 community members in attendance, the afternoon served as a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together around a shared vision of hope, dignity, and opportunity.

One of the most meaningful moments of the celebration came as attendees heard directly from two women who will soon call The Hope House home. Their stories offered a glimpse into the impact this space will have, not only by providing housing, but by creating an environment where healing, growth, and new beginnings can take root.

Housing is about more than four walls and a roof. It provides stability during difficult seasons, offers a foundation for personal growth, and creates space for individuals and families to build a brighter future. The Hope House was established with that belief at its core.

The journey to opening The Hope House is also a story of community collaboration. What began as a conversation and a generous offer from Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, championed by Lora Holladay, evolved into a collective effort supported by countless individuals, businesses, and organizations committed to making this vision a reality.

We are deeply grateful to the Feeman Family for their generous investment in the project, helping transform an idea into a place of refuge and renewal. We also extend our sincere appreciation to JKH Cabinets for providing beautiful cabinetry, Queen City Homestore for helping furnish the home with appliances, and the many community members who donated furniture, household supplies, and countless volunteer hours to prepare the space.

As guests toured the home, it became clear that every room tells a story. Each piece of furniture, each carefully chosen detail, and each completed project reflects the generosity of people who wanted future residents to know they are valued, supported, and loved. The Hope House stands as a testament to what is possible when a community chooses to invest in one another.

While the ribbon cutting marked an important milestone, it is only the beginning. The true impact of The Hope House will be measured in the lives transformed within its walls, the hope restored during difficult seasons, and the opportunities created for women and children as they move toward a brighter future.

To everyone who prayed, donated, volunteered, and believed in this vision, thank you. Your generosity has helped create more than a house. Together, you have helped create a place where hope can flourish.

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." — Galatians 6:2
